My dear brothers and sisters,
Just three days ago, on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz, our hearts were filled with sadness as we received the shocking news of the passing of a beloved member of our community, Rabbi Avraham Fahima. He was a dear soul who touched our lives in a profound way.
Now, as we gather together in this moment, we must turn our attention to his young daughter, who will soon be taking her first steps into adulthood. In just ten days, she will walk down the aisle towards her future, her heart yearning for her father’s presence, even though he can only watch over her from Shamayim.
Yet, there is a heavy burden weighing upon this young girl’s shoulders. Our community is facing challenging times, especially when it comes to our finances. The economic situation is so dire that even the most basic expenses for a Chasuna seem impossible to bear.
It is here, in this moment, that I reach out to each and every one of you. I implore you, with all the emotion within my being, to give whatever you can, to give generously and selflessly. Let us join together and lighten the load for this precious orphan. Let us ensure that, when she walks towards the Chuppah, it is not with the burden of financial worries, but with a heart overflowing with joy.
Our actions will not only bring happiness to her life, but they will also bring great fulfillment to our own. In extending our hands, in offering our support, we will be performing a tremendous and noble Mitzvah of Hochnosas Kallah for this newly made Yesoma. It is in moments like these that we discover the true power of Achdus and Chesed.
May you be Bentched abundantly for the compassion you show and the contributions you make. May your lives be filled with Simcha and may you always find comfort in the knowledge that you have made a significant difference in the life of this young girl. Together, we can bring a ray of light into her world and BE”H the coming of Moshiach!
